My final thoughts - Always Eat After 7 PM diet

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

I am in my fourth and final week of the Always Eat After 7PM so officially I am in the Lifestyle Phase that is for life! It has been an interesting and revealing journey for me that I kind used to be on the same boat – Don’t eat much in the evening! Following this diet, I realized that eating a proper dinner that contains protein, super carbs, non-starchy veggies and smart fats, I get all the macronutrients I need with clean foods for optimum health and controlled weight. Decent sized meals in the evening do not add extra pounds and in fact, they do boost your metabolism. However, following this lifestyle diet dieters should ideally introduce intermittent fasting, typically for 12-16 hours.  I understand that for many this may not possible. Don’t worry! The book offers alternative and tasty, protein only snacks for breakfast not exceeding 250 calories.

My second point about the book is…water.
“Water helps digest your food, expel wastes, regulate your temperature, protect your tissues, cushion your joints, and protect your spinal column, among many other vital functions. It is through water that hormones flow to the proper organs, that nutrients reach all cells, and that toxins are diluted and removed from the body.”

Don’t forget to have plenty of water every day. You can infuse it with your favorite veggies or fruits like cucumber and grapefruit for a more advanced flavor.

Get your Super Carbs. “We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal.” Adding one portion of your favorite ones to your dinners during The Lifestyle Phase which is for life will help you keep your weight in control. Make sure that you avoid processed carbs and only include the carbs suggested in the book.

I intend to continue with the same routine and keep my metabolism rate high. I may skip IF here and there to enjoy a nice breakfast with family and friends but having an empty stomach in the morning feels good and saves calories for a yummy dessert!

I hope you enjoy the diet and the book. Here is my final thought from the book:

“Always Eat After 7 pm is a three-phase program that teaches you how to lose big by strategically eating big when you are naturally hungriest—in the evening. This may sound too good to be true, but let me assure you it is no gimmick. It’s all about making strategic and smart food swaps, and you can still eat your favorite foods.”

Goal Setting and the Always Eat After 7PM

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

I am in my third week of the Always Eat After 7PM so officially I am in the Main Phase. This phase lasts until the desired weight is reached. Additionally, this phase can feature Super Carbs including quinoa, rice and potatoes. As I told you, I wanted to experiment with the Always Eat After 7 PM diet to boost my metabolism. So far, I feel great, I enjoy my IF and see results on the scale even if I didn’t plan to. Now, let’s talk about the Super Carbs. In this stage, you can have yummy foods that were “banned” from mainstream diets and “experts” in your after 7 PM dinner. In fact, based on the book:

“Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep, providing your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods to fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”
“Carbs come in various types, and you get to enjoy most of them—even to the point of filling up on certain types. First, there are starches, including dried beans, lentils, carrots, peas, beets, oats, grains and certain breads.”

So forget giving up rice, lentils or quinoa for life. Just decide what Super Carbs you like and add it to your favorite dinner dish.

The book is so well organized and provides colorful recipes, food lists, and an easy-to-follow meal planning. So for dinner, you can create an easy to make dish that is comprised of:  one serving of protein (fish, chicken or beef), one serving of Super Carbs (starchy carbs including potatoes, rice and quinoa), one serving of non-starchy vegetables (just your favorite greens) and one serving of friendly fat. You can even have a dessert with low-sugar fruit or berries or 2 squares of 70% of dark chocolate.

I tried the Chili-Loaded Baked Potato; and cherries for dessert

Joel mentions after extensive research that “So, despite all the bad press over the years, certain carbohydrates play an important role in balancing your hormones and regulating your metabolic rate, while avoiding the dreaded weight loss plateaus that accompany conventional mainstream diets. Furthermore, when you eat these carbohydrates, you’ll feel much better than you would if you were following a traditional diet.”

To recap based on surprising science, Always Eat After 7 PM debunks popular diet myths and offers an easy-to-follow diet that accelerates fat-burning and allows you to indulge in your most intense food cravings: Eating the majority of your calories at night.

Why I chose this diet book and an interview with the author

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

I am in my second week of the Always Eat After 7PM. As I told you in my previous post, I wanted to experiment with this innovative approach to diet and generally lifestyle to boost my metabolism. One technique that I found particularly interesting, thus not so easy to implement for many is Intermittent Fasting. Although I have been doing IF recreationally a few times a week, I follow Joel’s suggestions to stick with it for 5-6 days a week. What does it mean? Stay without any food for at least 12 hours, mostly overnight, and go without any breakfast.

“Intermittent fasting really shines when it comes to improving the hormones that directly affect your hunger, blood sugar, and metabolism. One is insulin. IF combats insulin resistance, meaning that it helps your body use insulin more normally, thereby lowering your diabetes risk and boosting your metabolism.”

It wasn’t so difficult as I initially thought, particularly with the book’s interesting 3-Minute Fat-Burning Morning Rituals. My favorite is of course the SuperGreens drink that consists of one scoop of MetaboGreens and a cup of water, mixed together.Green powder supplements contain an array of pulverized veggies, healthy bacteria, and beneficial algae. Their energy-boosting, digestion-aiding, and detoxifying qualities are among their reported benefits.” Black coffee also will do the trick too.
Doing IF for a week now, I feel better, don’t have the sense of hunger and notice that my stomach is getting increasingly flat on daily basis.

Joel Marion’s Always Eat After 7PM program makes dieting easy and eliminates 90% of reasons for resistance.

Here is a short interview with Joel to learn more about him and the diet book:

Q1: What inspired you to write the book?

After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that needed to be exposed. The first is that you can't eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can't eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problems by providing an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by any person to quickly achieve their weight loss goals.

Q2: How long did it take for you to develop the diet?

It actually took several years of researching for me to discover the real science of eating late night. After a few years of tweaking and refining, I finally came up with a rapid fat loss solution that overcomes all the pitfalls of traditional diets.

Q3: What was the most surprising discovery when you were researching scientific data for the diet?

That almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.

Why I chose this diet book

This post is brought to you by our sponsor, “Always Eat After 7 PM”. The opinions expressed below are my own.

As I like to experiment with different ways of eating in order to boost my metabolism,  I jumped at the chance to receive an advance copy of “Always Eat After 7 PM” by Joel Marion. Over the next month, I’ll be sharing my experience of the book, including the diet choices I will make and the results I will get. The Always Eat After 7 PM plan consists of: The 14-day Acceleration Phase to kick-start the program and see rapid results, The Main Phase where you’ll learn exactly which foods to eat when in order to achieve your weight-loss goals, The Lifestyle Phase to keep the weight off for good.

This diet book’s title is intriguing and for many controversial. We most of us grow up learning that we should eat breakfast, a rather large lunch and an early dinner ideally without carbs in order not to gain weight and be healthy. Eating late was against all the rules pretty much everywhere in the world. But “bestselling author, Joel Marion, is a fitness expert and nutritionist debunks the myths underlying traditional dieting and offers a simple, highly effective weight loss program that improves health, boosts metabolism and energy levels.” Marion did extensive research and consulted scientific books and research papers. Here is an interesting finding:

“Research shows that the average person’s metabolic rate is no different during sleep than during the day. In short, your metabolism doesn’t slow down at night. Nor does your body store fat at the end of the day. Whether it’s 8 am or 8 pm, you use food for energy the same way.”

I start now the new diet plan and I’ll post an update next week, so stay tuned!
