The NYC Wine and Food Festival

The Food Network New York City Wine and Food Festival is over but my stomach is still full! It was cool, fun and interesting, and it included plenty of food and alcohol. That said, I didn't have the chance to attend the famous $200 Rachel Ray's Burger Bash at DUMBO nor the Ferrero's SWEET event for the sweet tooth! But I did go to the Grand tasting on Friday, the very first day of the festival. I thought, after reading my ticket, that it would be just a wine tasting but the Grand tasting proved to be a REALLY grand tasting: various wines from all over the world, spirits and cocktails and plenty of food! I can't forget the lovely fois-gras canapés offered by the Beard Foundation, the Porto Rican street food mini sandwiches, chocolate popcorn, prosciutto and plenty of cheese! At the end of the evening, both the taste and the eye were fully satisfied. But I had to continue to the Meatpacking Uncorked event: more wine offered in all major MPD stores. I tried Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Larson Champagne and the Copola Pinot Grigio! Before to call it a day, I made a stop at the Illy Push Button House for my caffeine fix. I always welcome a nice cappuccino!

I still had Saturday for more tastings to go - I visited the Biz Bash Hors D' Oeuvres Lounge and various events at the Chelsea market. A nice day as well although not as exciting as Friday. The Illy House was there for more coffee and chocolates and the MPD area was buzzing!

On Sunday, I woke up with a messy stomach, and I wondered why. Too much food? Too much alcohol or both? I have no specific answers but I will figure that out. Just a few days of "detox" won't harm at all!
